Files can be included in a post to help users find the relevant documents in one place without needing to navigate outside of the post.
This is typically used to provide more information to the user. This function also allows for multiple files to be attached. To open the attachments, the user will need to click on each file in the post.
Follow the below steps to learn how to add files (PDF, Documents and more) to a post:
Start by creating a new post.
Navigate to the section called Documents, this is located after the text editor. Click on Documents and a file uploader tool will appear.
There are two ways to add a file:
Drag and Drop
Start by opening the folder the file in located in on the desktop/computer. Simply drag and drop the file into the box and it will appear in the section once it's been uploaded.
Open up the file explorer window
Click on the text: click to select from computer to open up a pop-up window that will prompt you to find the file on your computer and select it from there. The file will appear in the section once it's been uploaded.
* Accepted file types: PNG, JPEG, PDF, DOC(X), PPT(X), XLS(x) or TXT files.
* File size limit: 20MB total.
Top tip: If the file (i.e. PDF Newsletter) you are uploading is too large, compress the file using a file compressor before attaching it to a post. There are a lot of online tools you can use, such as Small PDF and more.
To check the document you have uploaded, click on the file and it will download a copy to your computer/laptop.
Step 3 (if the file is incorrect)
If the file is incorrect, delete it by selecting the trash can icon located next to the file name and then follow the above step 2 again to reupload the file.
Click on Publish / Schedule once the post is ready to be finalised.
